This small West Village Duplex was a cramped and ungracious space, that we opened up and corrected at a fundamental level. By relocating the apartment's entry door and re-orienting a new stair we changed the apt. into a more easy flowing space and created a much larger and usable kitchen (with an exhaust hood to roof). Exposing the original wood ceiling joists and original brick wall helped express the apartments historic quality, and combines nicely with the more sleek and modern construction we added.
