Museum of Sex - Bar & Lounge

Resistance created a unique and moody Bar/Lounge space within the museum, along with a small rear building addition of exposed poured concrete for a new kitchen and bathrooms. The main space is a library lounge with the book shelving creating smaller seating 'rooms' to compliment the large collective seating area. There is a purposeful collision of styles throughout, for the unexpected, and maximum fun.

A century-old English pub's wooden bar was retrofitted, rebuilt, and integrated into the scheme, in strong contrast to the mid-century modernist space around it.  Stanley Kubrick's film  2001: A Space Odyssey was an inspiration for this.
